THS Band Scores Straight Superiors at Concert Festival

Congratulations to the Mighty Viking Band for their performance at the E.T.S.B.O.A. Concert Festival on March 9, 2017. This event was hosted at Farragut High School in Knoxville. The band performed their prepared selections, Dancing at Stonehenge by Anthony Suter and American Riversongs by Pierre LaPlante for three stage adjudicators. They were also required to sight-read in front of an additional judge. At the conclusion of the festival, each adjudicator awarded the band with a Superior Rating - the highest a band can receive.
Because the band received all Superior Ratings at Concert Festival and in Marching Band, they will now be awarded the prestigious Tennessee Bandmasters Sweepstakes Award for having both superior marching and concert programs. This award is presented to a small number of bands across the state. Congratulations, Mighty Viking Band, on this achievement! The band is under the direction of Mr. David Semones, with assistants Mrs. Laura Richmond and Mrs. Stephanie Lawrence.
