All State East Participants 2017

On Saturday, January 14, 44 Mighty Viking Band members traveled to Bearden High School to audition for All State East. The audition was rigorous: the students had to perform 5 scales, 2 prepared pieces, and at least 1 sightreading piece. The Mighty Viking Band had 10 students make the cut to be in these bands: a number we haven't achieved in at least 13 years! Congratulations to all who made it:

Xavier Russell - Blue band, 6th chair
The Mighty Viking Band has not had any percussion players make it into this prestigious band in over 11 years; this year 3 percussion students made the cut. Also, congratulations to Jacob Lane for making the All State Band!!
